About Dr. Mendes
Israeli-born, American-trained, Dr. David Mendes is a Plastic Surgeon with more than thirty years of experience.
Dr. David Mendes is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, with private practices in Raanana and Tel Aviv. He is one of the only Israeli Plastic Surgeons to hold the unique dual certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery as well as the Scientific Council of Israel.
Dr. Mendes graduated from Columbia (B.S.) and Cornell (M.D.) Universities in New York City. He completed his residency in Manhattan and did fellowship training in Craniomaxillofacial surgery in Norfolk, Virginia. He practiced in Manhattan from 1991 until 2003 when he moved to Israel with his family.
Dr. Mendes, a Senior Attending Plastic Surgeon in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot, has held Senior Attending Surgeon and Chief positions at prestigious Israeli hospitals since arriving in Israel. He is one of the most experienced Plastic Surgeons practicing in Israel today. He has traveled to Third World countries on volunteer missions to perform cleft lip and palate surgeries and other reconstructive surgeries for children. He is considered one of the leading experts in primary and secondary rhinoplasty. He is also specially trained in MOHs surgery to treat patients with skin cancer who need lesion removal followed by reconstruction. Dr. Mendes performs the full spectrum of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgical procedures.
Dr. Mendes is a member of the Israeli Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

The Consultation:
I take my time here. For good reason. It’s key that you choose a surgeon with whom you feel at ease. Someone who has earned your trust - who shares your taste. Someone who will help you take an honest look at your reasons for wanting surgery. And your expectations.
The best solution for you may be a different procedure than the one you came in for. It might be no surgery at all. Whether it takes one, two or three sessions, you’ll know everything you need to make the right decision. Without any pressure.
Surgery:
You’ll find that we work very hard at making the surgical experience as easy and as positive for you as possible. Depending on your needs we can help with everything from transportation and hotel arrangements to post-op care.
In cases where local anesthetic is used, I can use hypnosis to ease anxiety. I’m one of the few plastic surgeons offering this. Besides helping to put you at ease and keeping your blood pressure down, hypnosis often means less anesthesia. And that’s always a good thing.
